Our trip: August 9–19, 2024 · Last updated: November 2, 2026

Antiparos is a seven-minute car ferry from Paros, and a moped is the perfect way to see it. In one day we found a campground beach, a giant cave, a few quiet coves and two great lunch spots. It was so beautiful that next time we’d stay on Antiparos.

Half day or full day? A half day covers the campground beach and the cave. A full day adds beach-hopping and a long lunch.

Getting there

  • Rent a moped on Paros (we got ours in Naousa).
  • Ride to Pounta on Paros’ west coast and get in line for the car ferry. It runs about every 30 minutes, takes around seven minutes and costs a few euros. You just drive on.
  • Check the current ferry schedule before you go. (island hopping by ferry)

Stop 1: Camping Antiparos and the beach

Camping Antiparos has been run by the same family since 1978. Park the moped here, grab wine and snacks from their little general store, then follow the signs to the beach next door.

Fair warning: it’s a nudist beach. We relaxed with our wine, watched a guy hydrofoiling, and the water was amazing.

Stop 2: The Cave of Antiparos

Up on the mountain; just follow the signs. It’s 411 steps down into a HUGE cave. Wear real shoes and bring water.

Stop 3: Beach-hop along the coast

Keep riding along the coast and stop wherever looks good. Bring goggles; the water is so clear. Check your gas before you set off. We had to double back for it.

Where to eat

  • Mpakas: seafood right on the water, with fish drying on a driftwood branch.
  • Casa Fistiki: a beach lunch spot whose sign lists “restaurant, bar, wine shop, boutique, venue” and a crossed-out “strip club.”

On the way back

On the ferry back to Paros, Jake made friends with a couple from Florida, and they led us up into the hills to Katikia Old Farm House for homemade wine at sunset. It’s the perfect end to an Antiparos day. (3 days in Paros)

Packing list

  • Swimsuit, towel and goggles
  • Sneakers for the cave stairs
  • Water and sunscreen
  • Cash for the ferry and small spots
  • Your motorcycle license for the moped rental

All of these spots are on our map: Paros, Naxos & Santorini | Circus Wagon.
